Job description
This role is for an experienced engineer to join the Systems Engineering team at Apple, focusing on mobility control features for 5G and 6G wireless communication systems. The team is composed of dynamic and innovative individuals dedicated to transforming hardware technology. The position requires a strong understanding of wireless communication systems and the ability to tackle complex challenges. The engineer will play a key role in developing groundbreaking products and services.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of relevant experience is required.
- Good understanding of 5G-NR standard, specifically RRC and PHY.
- In-depth knowledge of Wireless Communication Systems.
- Experience with Matlab, C/C++, Javascript and/or Python for system-level simulation, workflow automation, data analysis and visualization.
- Strong theoretical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with NR reference signal design, cell search/measurement and mobility behavior.
- Familiarity with key RRC signaling flows between UE and network.
- Ability to make proper design tradeoffs considering power, performance and complexity.
- Experience with genAI tools to improve work efficiency and data analysis/machine learning skills.
Responsibilities
- Work on mobility control features for 5G and 6G wireless communication systems.
- Collaborate with the Systems Engineering team to develop innovative solutions.
- Utilize programming skills for system-level simulation and data analysis.
- Analyze and solve complex problems related to wireless communication.
- Design and evaluate key RRC signaling flows between user equipment and the network.
