Job description

Apple's RF System Engineering team is looking for an expert to define the next generation of Cellular RF Receiver architectures. This role involves architecting and delivering innovative wireless solutions for future Apple products, focusing on 5G and paving the way for 6G. Requirements

  • BSEE degree is required.
  • Understanding of Cellular Radio/3GPP Standards including UMTS, LTE, and 5G NR.
  • Knowledge of RF receiver architectures and their impact on system performance.
  • Proficiency in hardware/software co-design and understanding of digital hardware and software trade-offs.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Python or C++ is required.
  • Experience applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Machine Learning (ML) for optimization.
  • Expertise in microcontroller architectures for real-time operation.
  • Proficiency in AI/ML applications using tools like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Knowledge of cellular modem architectures and associated algorithms.
  • PhD degree focused on RF, particularly cellular receiver architectures.
  • System Engineering experience with a background in DSP for wireless communication.
  • Proficiency in mathematical modeling and analysis for control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the control architecture and algorithms for the RF receiver.
  • Collaborate with systems engineering, RF circuit design, and software engineering teams.
  • Define and deliver solutions that enhance performance and implementation efficiency.
  • Develop core technologies for future wireless solutions.
  • Utilize AI/ML to improve multi-objective optimizations and engineering workflows.
  • Build abstract system models leveraging control theory and optimization theory.
