Job description
The AI Architect will join the Legal Operations team to lead the design, development, and deployment of AI-powered tools that enhance the efficiency of the Legal Department. This role requires a blend of software engineering and AI expertise, along with strong communication skills to bridge engineering, legal, and business functions. The architect will work closely with attorneys and legal operations specialists to identify AI opportunities and develop scalable solutions. This position offers a unique chance to innovate within the legal industry using advanced AI technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience building and deploying AI/ML or automation solutions in production environments.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Demonstrated experience with modern AI architectures.
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong product development mindset with the ability to translate business needs into practical AI tools.
- Prior experience in or exposure to legal tech or legal operations.
- Familiarity with document management systems and legal AI tools.
- Experience building internal AI assistants or chatbots for enterprise knowledge retrieval.
- Understanding of data privacy, compliance, and governance frameworks relevant to legal data.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy AI solutions that enhance legal workflows.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with attorneys and legal operations teams to identify and prioritize AI use cases.
- Act as a product developer and owner from concept to rollout.
- Integrate large language models and other AI technologies into existing systems.
- Evaluate and integrate third-party legal AI tools and platforms as needed.
- Maintain strong documentation and governance around data usage and model performance.
- Stay current on emerging trends in AI and legal tech to help shape the department's AI strategy.
