Job description

The role involves joining Apple's elite Audio Product Design team to enhance the Airpods experience. As a Product Design Engineer, you will be responsible for conceiving, designing, testing, and bringing innovative audio products to production. The team collaborates closely with various departments to integrate advanced components into new products. This position may require some international travel, approximately 10% of the time.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in product design or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability in plastic and metal part design.
  • 3-D CAD skills.
  • Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Some experience with basic finite element analysis and general mechanical engineering analysis.
  • Flexibility and comfort working in a quickly changing environment.
  • Ability to travel internationally (10%+).
  • Experience working with overseas manufacturers.
  • Consumer electronics design experience.
  • Integration of wireless antenna (GSM, GPS, Wifi) into mechanical enclosures.
  • Experience with component modules such as audio drivers, batteries, and power supplies.
  • Design of audio subsystems including microphones, speakers, and receivers.
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (MSME) is preferred.
