Job description

The Video Computer Vision organization at Apple focuses on developing real-time on-device Computer Vision and Machine Perception technologies. The Architecture team plays a crucial role in integrating various computer vision algorithms and AI/ML teams to enhance Apple products. This position requires exceptional engineering skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with experts across multiple domains. Ideal candidates will have a strong product mindset and a deep understanding of multi-modal perception systems.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant, proven experience.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional initiatives that have transformed computer vision research into production-ready features.
  • Deep understanding of multi-modal perception systems, sensor fusion, and diverse imaging technologies.
  • Proven track record of designing custom silicon, sensors, or optics.
  • Strong leadership skills to drive large cross-functional efforts and present results to Apple leadership.
  • Exposure to modern techniques such as vision transformers, foundation models, and vision-language models.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to develop and implement computer vision technologies.
  • Architect technical solutions that address real business problems and deliver customer value.
  • Bridge the gap between high-level algorithm design and low-level system optimization.
  • Optimize image signal processing performance under tight power and latency constraints.
  • Integrate innovative techniques into resource-constrained environments.
  • Lead real-time computer vision projects such as SLAM, calibration, and scene understanding.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
