JobsSoC Validation Engineer
Job description
In this role, you will be part of the Silicon Validation Team at Apple, focusing on silicon validation and debugging related to anomalous behaviors in system workloads. You will work closely with functional test writers to understand the architectures of Apple SoCs and define validation plans. Your responsibilities will include executing system tests on prototype SoCs and characterizing their functional voltages. You will also collaborate with domain experts and downstream testing teams to resolve issues and provide feedback for product operation voltages.
Requirements
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience in silicon validation software engineering or a related field.
- Experience with SoC bring up.
- Experience with system debug.
- Knowledge of computer architectures, including cache, memory hierarchy, and data pipelines.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Tcl.
Responsibilities
- Focus on silicon validation, debug, and root cause analysis related to anomalous behaviors using system workloads.
- Work closely with functional test writers to understand high-level architectures of each IP block within Apple SoCs.
- Define and execute validation plans through scripts and automation frameworks on prototype SoCs across various Process, Voltage, and Temperature corners.
- Identify potential issues and characterize the functional voltage of SoCs under workloads.
- Act as the first line of debugger to triage issues and isolate failures.
- Collaborate with domain experts to define Design of Experiments and test possible workarounds.
- Analyze data across voltage domains and provide feedback to product engineers regarding product operation voltages.
- Facilitate issue resolution by collaborating with downstream testing teams.
