Job description
This role involves being a key member of a team focused on developing Apple's software application platform. The position requires a passion for crafting great software and the ability to influence the direction of various software features. The candidate will work across the software engineering organization and with cross-functional partners to enhance the platform. Responsibilities include engaging with developers and navigating complex design constraints while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience working in software development in Swift, Objective-C, or other object-oriented programming languages.
- A strong understanding of software architecture, API design, and system design.
- Strong written and presentation skills, able to communicate effectively with engineers and senior leaders.
- Proven ability to ramp up quickly on new technologies.
- Self-driven with the ability to work autonomously while managing multiple and simultaneous work tracks.
- Experience leading large cross-functional software projects.
- Track record of shipping software at scale.
- Understanding of developing platform software, especially iOS and macOS.
- Experience with software regulation compliance.
Responsibilities
- Engage with teams within the software organizations and beyond to create the best platform possible.
- Partner with engineering teams as the voice of the platform throughout the software development cycle.
- Evaluate incoming developer requests and design solutions that enhance the platform offerings.
- Promote best practices for building a great platform by creating processes and training.
- Engage with legal partners to navigate evolving regulatory requirements and review features for compliance.
