Job description

As a Hardware System Power Engineer at Apple, you will leverage your engineering expertise to collaborate with cross-functional teams in the development of innovative products like the Apple Vision Pro. Your focus will be on power circuit design and characterization, ensuring that products meet performance and efficiency standards. You will engage in problem-solving related to power supply design and work with state-of-the-art test equipment. This role requires strong interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to collaboration.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of career experience in electrical engineering
  • Strong fundamentals in electrical engineering
  • Experience in power supply design and knowledge of DC-DC power conversion topologies
  • Expertise in schematic capture and layout review
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience and knowledge of PMIC architecture, implementation, and validation
  • Working knowledge of embedded systems with a focus on meeting tight constraints
  • Knowledge in one or more areas such as CPU/SOC, battery, or analog circuits
  • Experience working with mechanical design and software development teams

Responsibilities

  • Apply engineering expertise to solve challenging engineering problems
  • Select components, design schematics, and direct layout for power circuits
  • Bring up and debug circuits in the lab
  • Collaborate with partner teams to realize prototypes for product definition and user testing
  • Define test criteria and execute test plans on functional prototypes
  • Drive detailed power circuit design and characterization
  • Create power test plans and guide their execution in lab and high-volume manufacturing environments
  • Engage in domestic and international travel as required
