Job description
The Legal Data Analyst role within the Applied Data Science team at Apple focuses on leveraging AI tools to enhance data analysis and drive operational excellence in Legal Operations. This position is crucial for transforming complex legal data into actionable insights and ensuring data readiness for AI consumption. The analyst will utilize both traditional analytics and AI-powered techniques to uncover trends and patterns in legal operations data. A strong understanding of legal operations and analytical rigor is essential for making data-informed decisions.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, and analytics roles
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, along with experience in analytical and data profiling tools
- Experience using AI and LLM-based tools to accelerate analytical work
- Experience with statistical analysis, trend analysis, and forecasting techniques
- Experience working with enterprise data systems such as ERP, CRM, or matter management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate analytical findings and data quality insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience building in and presenting with BI and visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI
- Experience with legal operations data including matter management and eBilling
- Understanding of prompt engineering techniques to improve AI tool results
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks and data stewardship models
- Experience with data quality tools such as Great Expectations or Monte Carlo
- Knowledge of entity resolution concepts and master data management
- Understanding of how data quality impacts AI/ML model performance
- Experience in a corporate legal department or professional services environment
