Job description
The ASIC Digital architect will play a crucial role in the Touch Technology team at Apple, focusing on designing and launching advanced touch solutions for products like the iPhone and iPad. This position requires a collaborative approach to create optimized digital designs for touch and sensing ASICs. The architect will translate high-level user requirements into realizable systems, ensuring that designs integrate seamlessly with overall product functionality. This role demands a strong electrical engineering background and a commitment to engineering excellence and innovation.
Requirements
- BS degree and a minimum of 20 years relevant industry experience
- Experience leading chip architecture and/or digital design, preferably in touch or communications
- Experience developing and launching high volume IC designs
- Strong electrical engineering background in embedded system design, including ASIC microarchitecture and SoC architecture
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with IC bring-up and debug
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Verilog, or similar simulation and design tools
- Direct experience with touch technology and/or flat panel display technology is beneficial
- Ph.D. and a minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Analyze applications to create cost and power optimized digital designs for touch and sensing ASICs
- Architect touch sensing systems and the ASICs required to realize them
- Translate high level user requirements into detailed specifications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify critical design interactions
- Create high level modeling of proposed solutions
