Job description
The ASIC Digital architect will play a crucial role in the Touch Technology team at Apple, focusing on designing and launching advanced touch sensing systems and ASICs. This team is dedicated to creating exceptional multi-touch user experiences across various Apple products. The architect will analyze applications to develop cost and power optimized digital solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with overall product designs. A strong background in electrical engineering and experience in chip architecture are essential for success in this role.
Requirements
- BS degree and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience
- Experience leading chip architecture and/or digital design, preferably in touch or communications
- Experience developing and launching high volume IC designs
- Strong electrical engineering background in embedded system design, including ASIC microarchitecture and SoC architecture
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Verilog, or similar simulation and design tools
- Direct experience with touch technology and/or flat panel display technology is beneficial
Responsibilities
- Architect touch sensing systems and the ASICs required to realize them
- Analyze applications to create cost and power optimized digital designs
- Develop high level models of proposed solutions and detailed specifications of requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify critical design interactions
- Oversee IC bring-up and debug processes
