Job description

The ASIC Digital architect will play a crucial role in the Touch Technology team at Apple, focusing on the design and development of advanced touch sensing systems and ASICs. This team is dedicated to creating innovative multi-touch user experiences across various Apple products. The architect will analyze applications to optimize digital designs for cost and power efficiency, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with overall product designs. A strong background in electrical engineering and experience in chip architecture are essential for success in this role.

Requirements

  • BS degree and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience
  • Experience leading chip architecture and/or digital design, preferably in touch or communications
  • Experience developing and launching high volume IC designs
  • Strong electrical engineering background in embedded system design, including ASIC microarchitecture and SoC architecture
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, Verilog, or similar simulation and design tools
  • Ph.D. and a minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Architect touch sensing systems and the required ASICs to realize them
  • Analyze applications to create cost and power optimized digital designs
  • Develop high level models of proposed solutions and create detailed specifications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify critical design interactions
