The TechOps Engineer role at Apple focuses on maintaining the reliability and performance of globally distributed systems within the Customer Systems Operations team. Requirements
- B.S in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar or equivalent related work experience.
- Experience in scripting languages and automation tools such as Java, JEE, REST, Swift/Objective C.
- Understanding of standard networking protocols and components such as HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, ICMP.
- Experience in using AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to enhance operational efficiency.
- Fundamental understanding of distributed systems including Micro services, Messaging Brokers, and Versioning.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Manage large-scale production outages and lead incident response efforts.
- Design, build, and maintain automation solutions for monitoring and management of distributed systems.
- Develop tools and software to automate repetitive operational tasks and improve system reliability.
- Plan and execute system health monitoring and incident response across global applications.
- Create and maintain accurate documentation reflecting architecture and procedures.
- Partner with multi-functional teams to improve reliability and efficiency.
- Drive operational metrics and KPI identification and alignment.
