Job description

Apple is looking for a signal integrity engineer to join the system technology team within the Datacenter organization. The role focuses on supporting system-level signal integrity design, analysis, and validation for data center products. The candidate will collaborate with various teams to provide detailed strategies and guidelines during the design execution phase. This position requires deep knowledge of high-speed SerDes and electrical-optical-electrical signaling interfaces.

Requirements

  • M.S. degree with relevant industry experience or Ph.D. with 3-5 years of experience.
  • Deep knowledge of system-level SerDes design and analysis skills.
  • Familiarity with all aspects of signal integrity for high-speed SerDes, parallel bus, and single-ended signaling.
  • Measurement expertise with frequency and time domain tools including VNA and TDR.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support system-level signal integrity design, analysis, and validation for data center products.
  • Conduct pathfinding studies during the silicon development phase and provide feedback to the silicon and packaging teams.
  • Work closely with system design teams to provide detailed signal integrity strategies during the design execution phase.
  • Develop test suites with HW validation teams to perform system-level validation for evaluating design margins.
  • Provide ongoing signal integrity support through the project design process, including pathfinding and verification stages.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
