Job description

The Research Scientist role at Google Research focuses on driving fundamental research and product innovation. The team is dedicated to developing new technologies and improving existing processes through large-scale tests and experiments. Research Scientists will work on a variety of computer science problems, including machine learning and natural language processing. They will also engage with the wider research community by publishing findings and collaborating with external partners.

Requirements

  • PhD in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Coding experience in Python, JavaScript, R, Java, or C++.
  • One or more scientific publication submission(s) for conferences, journals, or public repositories.
  • 2 years of coding experience in Python, JavaScript, R, Java, or C++ is preferred.
  • 1 year of experience owning and initiating research agendas is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Author research papers to share and generate impact of research results across the team and in the research community.
  • Help in growing research business across teams by sharing research trends and practices within the community.
  • Define the data structure, framework, design, and evaluation metrics for research solution development and implementation under minimal guidance.
  • Identify new and upcoming research areas by interacting with potential external and internal collaborators.
  • Contribute to conducting experiments based on the research question and develop research prototypes or conduct simulations.
