Job description
The Mechanical Engineer for Data Center Services at Google will play a vital role in overseeing the design, construction, and commissioning of complex HVAC and mechanical distribution systems for data centers. This position involves managing site-level mechanical engineering issues and ensuring compliance with design standards and local regulations. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and providing technical guidance to vendor teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical systems within mission-critical facilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments.
- 5 years of experience with mechanical infrastructure systems such as HVAC and cooling systems.
- 5 years of experience with data center operations and working with mechanical contractors.
- 5 years of experience with electro/mechanical assembly and mechanical testing procedures.
Responsibilities
- Manage all site level mechanical engineering issues during project execution.
- Identify and resolve issues with cross-functional teams.
- Maintain all mission critical data center related mechanical system design requirements.
- Support the commissioning team in developing documentation and testing procedures.
- Provide technical guidance to vendor teams in the resolution of issues.
