Job description

The Senior Research Scientist role focuses on developing active analog superconducting circuits for quantum computing applications. The position involves working with superconducting devices and microwave engineering to advance quantum AI technologies. The successful candidate will lead projects from concept through integration, collaborating with various teams to enhance qubit control and measurement. This role is critical in unlocking the potential of quantum computing for solving complex problems.

Requirements

  • PhD in physics, electrical engineering, or related fields or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in operating, calibrating, or benchmarking quantum systems, superconducting detectors, or related technologies.
  • 2 years of experience in working in an academic, government, or industry lab environment.
  • Experience with a programming language such as Python, C, or MATLAB and data analysis.
  • Experience with microwave engineering, circuit design, electromagnetic simulation, and test-and-measurement equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Own project full life-cycle from innovation to integration.
  • Design, simulate, layout, and test superconducting 3- and 4-wave mixing devices.
  • Conduct experiment design and measurement in the context of qubit readout and control.
  • Collaborate with processor design, device modeling, theory, fabrication, and metrology teams.
