Job description

The Module Reliability Engineer position at Apple's Hardware Display Module Reliability Group focuses on ensuring the reliability of new technology displays. The role involves setting test specifications, driving equipment procurement, and executing stress testing to assess reliability. Engineers will analyze data and collaborate with design teams to address failure analysis and corrective actions. This position requires a strong understanding of materials science and engineering principles.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Physics, Engineering or equivalent field with 3+ years of experience.
  • A graduate degree in Materials Science, Physics, Engineering or equivalent field with 2+ years of experience.
  • Understanding of the physics behind the mechanical and electrical properties of materials.
  • Exposure to failure analysis techniques and materials characterization tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel internationally without restrictions, up to 10% travel.
  • Extraordinary problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with the design and manufacture of assemblies that convert digital signals into physical signals.
  • Adept in statistical data analysis and capable of clear reporting.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at once, including running activities remotely at third-party vendor sites overseas.
  • Flexibility to accept new tasks and pursue solutions to unexpected problems.

Responsibilities

  • Set test specifications and drive procurement and qualification of critical equipment.
  • Assess reliability by executing stress testing and analyzing the resulting data.
  • Provide direction for failure analysis to understand the root cause of failures.
  • Collaborate with the design team to determine corrective actions.
  • Complete tests and resolve problems in an unattended manner.
