Job description

Apple's RF System Engineering team is looking for an expert to define the next generation of Cellular RF Receiver architectures. This role involves architecting and delivering innovative wireless solutions for future Apple products, focusing on 5G and 6G technologies. The candidate will work closely with various engineering teams to ensure high performance and quality in RF receiver designs. Requirements

  • BS degree with 3 plus years of industry experience.
  • PhD degree with previous work on cellular topics.
  • 5+ years of experience in RF, including cellular receiver architectures.
  • Proficiency in Python or C++.
  • Expertise in microcontroller architectures for real-time operation.
  • Experience with hardware and software co-design.
  • Understanding of Cellular Radio/3GPP Standards (UMTS, LTE, 5G NR FR1/2, 6G).
  • Familiarity with cellular modem architectures.
  • Knowledge of RF circuit impairments and their system-level impact.
  • Experience with digital signal processing (DSP).

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement control architecture and algorithms for RF receivers.
  • Collaborate with systems engineering, RF circuit design, platform architecture, and software engineering teams.
  • Drive the development of core technologies for wireless solutions.
  • Apply Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Machine Learning (ML) to optimize RF line-up and adaptive algorithms.
  • Model the system-level impact of RF circuit impairments.
