Job description

In this role, you will join a team focused on developing System on Chips (SOCs) for Apple devices. Your primary responsibility will be ensuring high-speed serial interface signal integrity and power integrity throughout the design process. You will collaborate with circuit design teams and vendors to optimize system design and validate performance. This position requires a strong understanding of both electrical and physical design aspects of high-speed interfaces.

Requirements

  • BS degree with 10+ years of relevant industry experience or PhD with 8+ years of industry experience.
  • Prior design and modeling experience with USB, PCIe, or comparable interfaces.
  • Familiarity with signal and power integrity issues of high-speed serial interfaces.
  • Experience with lab equipment such as VNA, TDR, real-time scope, and spectrum analyzer.
  • Strong fundamentals in 3D/2D EM simulation tools and transmission line theory.

Responsibilities

  • Work on the electrical and physical design of high-speed serial interface systems.
  • Conduct electrical extraction and validation of package and PCB.
  • Collaborate with circuit design teams and vendors to optimize circuit and system design.
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate signal and power integrity.
  • Work with product engineering and system engineering to debug and improve product yield.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
