Job description

The role involves driving product impact through measurement and evaluation for widely used products and services. The Data Science and Insights team focuses on guiding product development and decisions using rigorous data analysis. You will collaborate with engineering teams to enhance search quality and develop features based on data insights. The position requires a passion for building outstanding products and involves working with complex data sets and advanced analytical methods.

Requirements

  • 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Operational Research, or Computer Science.
  • Proficiency in data science, machine learning, and analytics.
  • Strong programming skills, including data-querying skills in SQL or Spark.
  • Experience with a scripting language for data processing, such as Python or R.
  • Strong communication skills to explain technical topics to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across functions.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with engineering teams to improve search quality and guide feature development.
  • Research and develop evaluation methods to enhance Apple user-facing products.
  • Work with evaluation engineering teams to translate methodological developments into technologies.
  • Conduct analysis including data collection, quality control, and presentations.
  • Build and prototype analysis pipelines iteratively to provide insights at scale.
  • Develop knowledge of product data structures and advocate for necessary changes.
  • Collaborate closely with product engineering teams on machine learning algorithms.
