Job description

In this role, you will be part of the system-on-chip (SOC) performance team within Apple's Hardware Technologies organization. The team focuses on shaping the architecture of future Apple devices by fostering collaboration between various engineering teams. Your main objective will be to ensure high-quality performance models that drive world-class hardware designs. You will engage in the full life-cycle of performance modeling, from architectural exploration to post-silicon correlation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in hardware architecture and design issues
  • Experience coding in C++ and Python
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture and software engineering principles
  • Familiarity with data structures and algorithms
  • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience with multi-paradigm software development in C++
  • Experience with multi-language programming environments
  • Understanding of compiler transformations and their impact on code
  • Experience with architectural and micro-architectural performance modeling

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers to translate design space studies into software models
  • Develop high-performance C++ models based on hardware execution models
  • Ensure the performance, maintainability, and flexibility of the simulator
  • Support hardware architects in quickly iterating on experiments
  • Engage in the full life-cycle of performance modeling activities
