Job description
The role involves joining Apple's Wireless Connectivity Silicon team, focusing on the development of wireless System on a Chip (SoC) solutions. The team emphasizes energy-efficient design and innovative technologies that enhance user experience. As a core member of the Wireless SoC firmware team, the position requires collaboration with software engineering teams to ensure firmware quality. The role is critical for the functional deployment of wireless products to a vast customer base.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 10+ years of industry experience.
- Strong background in embedded firmware development using C and assembly languages.
- Familiarity with ARM CPUs and their internals.
- Experience with low-level hardware interfaces, register and interrupt programming.
- Solid understanding of basic embedded concepts such as RTOS and concurrency.
- Experience in developing low-level drivers for peripherals and performing hardware bring-up.
- Knowledge of wireless communication protocols and MAC/PHY/Radio layers.
- Familiarity with industry standards for wireless communications such as Bluetooth and WLAN.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Python, Perl, or Tcl.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Craft and implement embedded firmware for SoC bring-up and wireless connectivity enablement.
- Work closely with software engineering teams to ensure firmware quality for manufacturability.
- Emphasize hardware and system bring-up and driver implementation.
- Develop protocol stacks and support other teams within the Wireless SoC group.
