Job description

The Circuit Timing Engineer will be part of the custom digital circuits team, focusing on timing and design of sophisticated circuits that deliver high performance while consuming low power. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy of transistor level timing and validating timing test correctness. The engineer will collaborate with circuit designers, tool developers, and chip level timing to support billions of Apple devices. This position offers the opportunity to integrate new insights and work with a dedicated team of engineers.

Requirements

  • BS degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience
  • 10+ years of proven experience in transistor level static timing analysis and noise flows
  • Expertise and in-depth knowledge of industry standard STA tools, Nanotime and Primetime
  • Experience in timing constraints generation and management, and timing convergence in the CPU environment
  • Familiarity with custom memory designs such as SRAM, register file, and dynamic circuits
  • Ability to perform spice simulations for correlation to static timing and noise results
  • Expertise in analyzing and converging crosstalk delay and noise glitch in deep submicron processes
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Scripting skills for flow automation; experience with tcl is a plus
  • Knowledge of industry standard circuit and design tools
  • MSEE preferred

Responsibilities

  • Enable global directives to ensure proper timing of innovative circuit topologies
  • Provide a link between circuit designers, tool developers, and chip level timing to validate transistor level timing accuracy and timing test correctness
  • Develop timing methodology that supports billions of Apple devices providing high performance in a very small power envelope

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage.
