Job description
The Operations Reliability Engineer role at Apple focuses on ensuring the reliability of new technology components and products. This position involves guiding development and operations teams to identify and mitigate high-risk failure modes early in the design life cycle. Requirements
- 7+ years of experience performing reliability testing including Mechanical Stress tests, Environmental & Fatigue testing, and experience in Failure Analysis techniques.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering such as Mechanical, Electrical, Reliability, Materials, Optical, Industrial or similar.
- Master's or PhD in Engineering such as Mechanical, Electrical, Reliability, Materials, Optical, Industrial or similar.
- Strong understanding of the physics behind material properties and ability to derive root causes of failure.
- Knowledge of reliability models, accelerated test models, and industry test standards.
- Deep understanding of Design of Experiments and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis.
- Strong statistical and data analytics skills including statistical process control.
- Extraordinary problem-solving abilities and strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Guide development and operations teams toward generating reliable designs for new technology components.
- Identify high-risk failure modes early in the design life cycle.
- Use engineering knowledge to find the best path toward mitigation before ramp.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and present findings at an executive level.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a dynamic and positive attitude.
