Job description
Join Apple's Silicon Engineering Group as an Analog Layout Automation Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in developing the next generation of systems-on-chip (SOCs) for iconic devices. This position focuses on the evolution of Analog/Mixed-Signal circuits, emphasizing automation and the application of AI/ML techniques to enhance design efficiency. You will work closely with circuit designers and utilize advanced CAD tools to create high-performance layouts. Your contributions will drive automation and improve workflows in the design process.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience.
- Experience designing analog and mixed-signal layouts in deep-submicron CMOS and FinFET technologies.
- Strong programming/scripting skills in SKILL, Perl, TCL, Shell, and/or Python.
- Solid understanding of supervised and self-supervised learning and convolutional neural networks.
- Hands-on experience with PyTorch for model development and experimentation.
- Proven ability to automate layout tasks and flows using scripting and CAD tools.
- Strong proficiency in custom and standard-cell floor planning and physical integration.
Responsibilities
- Convert design concepts into silicon by collaborating with circuit designers.
- Review floor plans and analyze circuits to ensure design integrity.
- Run verification suites and resolve LVS/DRC/ERC issues.
- Develop scripts to drive automation and improve design workflows.
- Apply AI/ML techniques for layout optimization and verification acceleration.
- Interpret physical verification reports, including DRC, ERC, and LVS.
- Diagnose and resolve layout-related issues using best practices.
