Apple's Home Hardware group is seeking a highly motivated engineer to shape the hardware for innovative devices. The role involves collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to develop and integrate cutting-edge hardware systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical system architecture and a passion for elegant design. Requirements
- BS in electrical engineering or computer engineering
- 8+ years of hands-on experience shepherding system designs from concept to mass production
- Expertise in hardware design for embedded applications from SOC/MCU integration to power architecture and sensor integration
- Understanding of compute architecture and peripheral IO functions such as PCIe, USB, I2C, SPI, UART, and SWD
- Working knowledge of PCB/flex layout for optimizing high speed signal integrity and power distribution network
- Demonstrated ability to effectively bring-up, debug, and validate mixed-signal designs
- Understanding of imaging systems and image processing for machine learning applications
- Expertise in emerging sensing technologies and sensor design is highly preferred
- Ability to take a methodical and insightful approach to data analysis
- Passion for continuous learning and exploring new technologies is highly valued
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary team to develop and integrate hardware systems for future Apple products
- Own critical aspects of the electrical architecture and implementation, including schematic design and layout
- Conduct bring-up, debugging, and validation of hardware designs
- Identify opportunities for improvement and drive compelling ideas into action
- Ensure alignment with user experience and product vision through effective communication
