Job description
The Cellular System Engineer role at Apple involves working on modem systems features and requirements as part of a dynamic system engineering team. This position requires a dedicated engineer with over 10 years of experience to tackle challenges in hardware technology. The focus is on pre- and post-silicon bring up and validation of end-to-end cellular systems. The engineer will also map system algorithms to hardware and firmware architecture while validating control flows and algorithms.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of relevant experience is required.
- Knowledge of cellular communication standards including 6G, 5G NR, and 4G LTE.
- Deep knowledge of communication system theory and signal processing.
- Experience with Matlab, C/C++, and/or Python for algorithm development.
- Experience in low power algorithm design for power critical applications is helpful.
- In-depth knowledge of wireless communication systems with hands-on lab testing experience.
Responsibilities
- Be a key member of the system engineering team working on modem systems.
- Conduct pre- and post-silicon bring up and validation of cellular systems.
- Map systems algorithms and requirements to hardware and firmware architecture.
- Perform simulation and emulation-based validation of control flows and algorithms.
- Design algorithms such as LDPC, Polar, and Turbo encoder design.
- Utilize lab equipment for chip bring-up and testing.
