Job description
Apple is seeking a Kubernetes Platform Engineer to enhance and operate Kubernetes infrastructure within the Silicon Technologies organization. This role involves ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of container orchestration platforms that support the engineering of advanced silicon devices. The position requires a hands-on, proactive engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to implement cloud-native practices. This opportunity allows for the development of foundational skills in container orchestration and platform engineering.
Requirements
- Minimum requirement of a BS degree and 3 years of relevant industry experience
- Experience in Kubernetes architecture, administration, and security
- Strong Linux system administration and container technologies experience
- Experience with Kubernetes package management and templating tools such as Helm and Kustomize
- Experience developing custom Kubernetes operators and controllers
- Proficiency in scripting and automation languages including Python, Bash, and Go
- Experience with infrastructure automation using Terraform and configuration management tools like Puppet and Ansible
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline implementation and GitOps workflows such as ArgoCD and Flux
- Experience with monitoring solutions like Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk, along with performance tuning
Responsibilities
- Deploy, operate, and enhance Kubernetes infrastructure within the Silicon Technologies organization
- Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of container orchestration platforms
- Utilize expertise in Kubernetes administration and infrastructure automation to build robust cluster environments
- Implement cloud-native practices and support Kubernetes solutions
- Learn cluster management, security best practices, and performance optimization techniques
- Develop and foster partnerships with cross-functional teams
