Job description

Apple is seeking a talented ML data engineer to join a team focused on leveraging recent breakthroughs in AI/ML and robotics. This role involves collaborating with skilled engineers and scientists to enhance Apple products and platforms. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and possess strong technical and interpersonal skills. The main focus will be on developing innovative solutions that improve system performance and user experiences.

Requirements

  • MS/PhD in Computer Science, Math, Machine Learning, Robotics, or related fields.
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong software engineering background.
  • Familiarity with the full robotics stack including controls, perception, planning, and navigation.
  • Familiarity with modern ML approaches such as VLMs, LLMs, Diffusions, and RL.
  • Proficiency using deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
  • Familiarity with Swift and Apple developer tools.
  • Experience in training and fine-tuning multimodal foundational models.
  • Experience in building RL models for robotics applications.
  • Experience in multi-view geometry, camera calibration, and 3D reconstruction pipelines.
  • Experience optimizing ML models or mathematical algorithms for mobile deployment and resource-constrained environments.
