Job description

The Senior Software Triage & Automation Engineer will join the Apple Service Engineering team to drive innovation and enhance user experiences through technology. This role focuses on debugging, analyzing, and triaging complex software issues across iOS, macOS, and cloud-based components. The engineer will leverage programming skills and automation tools to streamline issue resolution processes. The position requires strong analytical abilities and effective communication to collaborate with development teams and leadership.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in software development, debugging, or triage engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience with iOS/macOS internals, frameworks, and system-level components.
  • Proficiency in at least one C-type programming language (C, C++, Objective-C, Swift).
  • Strong Python experience for building automation tools, data analysis pipelines, and scripting workflows.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and triage complex software issues, crashes, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Design systems to automate triaging processes and expedite issue resolution.
  • Provide updates to leadership and guidance to development teams regarding incoming issues.
  • Utilize log analysis tools, crash reporting frameworks, and debuggers for effective troubleshooting.
  • Reduce manual work through strategic automation initiatives.
