Job description
The Security Engineer for National Security at Google will focus on creating and maintaining a secure operating environment for users and developers. This role involves working closely with network equipment and monitoring systems for potential attacks and intrusions. The engineer will also collaborate with software engineers to identify and rectify security vulnerabilities proactively. The position requires a strong background in security engineering and the ability to anticipate and respond to cybersecurity threats effectively.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security, and security protocols.
- 5 years of experience with security assessments, security design reviews, or threat modeling.
- Experience delivering security solutions through design, coding, configuration, and deployment.
- Must possess an active US Government Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) security clearance with polygraph.
- Ability to travel internationally 25% of the time as required.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement security monitoring strategies, incident response plans, and security awareness programs.
- Oversee the deployment and operation of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems and other security tools.
- Lead incident response efforts, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery.
- Conduct forensic analysis of security incidents and develop post-incident reports and recommendations for improvement.
