Job description
The Data Center Construction Project Manager at Apple will oversee the development of innovative and energy-efficient data centers. This role is part of a diverse team that manages Apple's global real estate portfolio and ensures the health and safety of all personnel and facilities. The position requires close collaboration with various teams to successfully execute multiple construction projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong planning and communication skills to drive projects from inception to completion.
Requirements
- 8+ years of demonstrated ability as a data center construction project manager.
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field, or equivalent job-related experience.
- Experience leading and supporting architects, engineers, and specialty consultants from initial programming to construction completion.
- Strong background in data center, commercial, or industrial construction, including MEP systems.
- Skilled in reading design and construction drawings for all fields.
- Experience with utility infrastructure and coordination of local utilities to site.
Responsibilities
- Handle all aspects of development for data centers within the US and global campuses.
- Lead multiple projects including equipment upgrades and modifications in live data center environments.
- Establish and maintain close working relationships with management, colleagues, and external partners.
- Build and maintain the project budget, securing internal approvals for capital funding.
- Lead General Contractors through competitive bidding and negotiation processes.
- Review proposals and change order requests from Consultants, General Contractors, Suppliers, and Subcontractors.
- Manage commissioning agents and review sequence of operations and test scripts.
