Job description
The Data Center Construction Project Manager at Apple will oversee the development of innovative and energy-efficient data centers within the US. This role is part of a diverse team that manages Apple's global real estate portfolio and focuses on sustainability initiatives. The position requires close collaboration with various teams, including Real Estate, Legal, and Construction, to ensure successful project execution. The manager will lead multiple projects, including equipment upgrades and new construction efforts, while maintaining a strong focus on health and safety.
Requirements
- 8+ years of demonstrated ability as a data center construction project manager.
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field, or equivalent job-related experience.
- Strong background in data center, commercial, or industrial construction, including MEP systems.
- Experience leading and supporting architects, engineers, and specialty consultants from programming to construction completion.
- Proficient in reading design and construction drawings for all fields.
Responsibilities
- Handle all aspects of development for data centers, ensuring innovative and energy-efficient designs.
- Coordinate closely with project partners from various teams to bring projects to fruition.
- Lead multiple projects, including equipment upgrades and modifications within live data center environments.
- Build and maintain project budgets, securing internal approvals for capital funding.
- Review proposals and change order requests, preparing comparative cost analysis.
