Job description

As a Content Engineer focused on Car Experience at Apple, you will contribute to the technical documentation that helps automakers integrate CarPlay, CarPlay Ultra, and car keys into their vehicles. This role involves working closely with the Car Experience engineering team and other stakeholders to define and author hardware specifications and integration requirements. You will also have the opportunity to modernize workflows and develop documentation tooling. Your work will directly impact the experiences of millions of drivers worldwide.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience writing or editing requirements documentation.
  • Proficiency with macOS and Unix, and SCM environments such as Git or Subversion.
  • Knowledge of the Swift programming language and app development using Apple APIs.
  • Familiarity with automotive systems, hardware integration, and accessory design.
  • Experience with text markup languages such as LaTeX, Markdown, HTML, or XML.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Car Experience engineering team to analyze engineering specifications and research automaker needs.
  • Craft content delivery plans and schedules while composing technical specifications that clearly communicate complex integration concepts.
  • Edit detailed technical specifications and other content produced by engineers.
  • Identify opportunities to modernize content workflows and formats for improved efficiency and quality.
  • Contribute to app development documentation and Human Interface Guidelines guidance.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
