Job description

Join Apple's Wireless Connectivity Silicon team, focusing on the development of wireless System on a Chip (SoC) solutions. This role emphasizes energy-efficient design and innovative technologies that enhance user experiences. You will be integral to a silicon design group that impacts the delivery of functional wireless products to millions of customers. The position involves crafting embedded firmware for SoC bring-up and ensuring quality in collaboration with software engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong background in embedded firmware development using C and assembly languages.
  • Familiarity with ARM CPUs and their internals.
  • Experience with low-level hardware interfaces and bare-metal software development.
  • Solid understanding of basic embedded concepts such as RTOS and concurrency.
  • Experience in developing low-level drivers for peripherals.
  • Knowledge of wireless communication protocols and industry standards such as Bluetooth and WLAN.
  • Comfortable with at least one scripting language such as Python, Perl, or Tcl.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Responsibilities

  • Craft and implement embedded firmware for SoC bring-up and wireless connectivity enablement.
  • Work closely with software engineering teams to ensure firmware quality for manufacturability.
  • Be a core member of a Wireless SoC firmware team with an emphasis on hardware and system bring-up.
  • Implement drivers and develop protocol stacks.
  • Support other teams interacting within the Wireless SoC group.
