Job description
Join Apple's Wireless Connectivity Silicon team, where you will play a crucial role in the development of wireless System on a Chip (SoC) technology. This position focuses on crafting and implementing embedded firmware for SoC bring-up and wireless connectivity enablement. You will collaborate closely with Software Engineering teams to ensure firmware quality and manufacturability. As a core member of the Wireless SoC firmware team, you will emphasize hardware and system bring-up, driver implementation, and protocol stack development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong background in embedded firmware development using C and assembly languages.
- Familiarity with ARM CPUs and its internals.
- Experience with low-level hardware interfaces, register and interrupt programming, and bare-metal software development.
- Solid understanding of basic embedded concepts such as RTOS, concurrency, and multi-processor systems.
- Experience in developing low-level drivers for peripherals and performing hardware bring-up.
- Knowledge of wireless communication protocols and understanding of MAC/PHY/Radio layers.
- Familiarity with industry standards for wireless communications such as Bluetooth, WLAN, Zigbee, and UWB.
- Comfortable with at least one scripting language such as Python, Perl, or Tcl.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Responsibilities
- Craft and implement embedded firmware for SoC bring-up and wireless connectivity enablement.
- Collaborate with Software Engineering teams to ensure the quality of firmware for manufacturability.
- Be a core member of the Wireless SoC firmware team.
- Emphasize hardware and system bring-up.
- Implement drivers and develop protocol stacks.
- Support other teams interacting within the Wireless SoC group.
