Job description
As a Performance Infrastructure Engineer for WebKit, you will be responsible for building and maintaining critical tools that help track, investigate, and prevent performance regressions across all Apple platforms. You will work within the Performance Infrastructure team to enhance the tooling and infrastructure that allows WebKit engineers to monitor performance metrics effectively. Your contributions will directly impact the ability of engineers to detect and diagnose performance changes as WebKit evolves. This role requires a blend of technical skills and collaboration to ensure high performance across various applications.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python or similar languages.
- Experience with front-end and back-end web development.
- Proficiency in Unix-based systems, ideally macOS.
- Familiarity with performance monitoring tools.
- Experience with performance analysis or benchmark design.
- Understanding of networking concepts.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
- Experience working with HTTP traffic, proxies, or network debugging tools.
- In-depth experience with front-end and back-end development.
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Strong debugging skills with ability to troubleshoot complex, multi-layered systems.
- Experience with continuous integration.
- Knowledge of UI/UX design principles.
- Experience with Docker and containerization.
Responsibilities
- Evolve the performance monitoring and testing infrastructure.
- Own and improve the systems that power performance testing and analysis workflows.
- Enable WebKit engineers to monitor performance metrics effectively.
- Detect and diagnose performance regressions across all Apple platforms.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance tooling and infrastructure.
