The Snowflake Platform Administration & Performance Engineer role is focused on optimizing data warehouse performance and automating administration tasks. This position aims to transform the data warehouse into a high-performance engine that supports real-time decision-making. The engineer will work with advanced tools and techniques to ensure efficient workload management and cost optimization. Collaboration with cloud services and adherence to security and governance standards are also key aspects of this role.

• 3+ years of experience in database administration or performance tuning with hands-on Snowflake experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree or experience.
• Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree is preferred.
• Deep understanding of Snowflake's multi-cluster shared data architecture and micro-partitioning.
• SnowPro Core Certification is highly preferred, along with cloud-specific associate or professional certifications.

• Proactively monitor and tune workloads using Snowsight Performance Explorer and account usage schemas.
• Optimize query execution by analyzing query profiles for disk spillage and identifying Cartesian joins.
• Implement Search Optimization Services or Query Acceleration where necessary.
• Design and manage unified storage using Apache Iceberg for high-performance querying in Snowflake.
• Develop advanced scripts and pipelines using Snowpark Python and Snowpark pandas APIs for scalable data transformations.
• Automate administrative tasks through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
• Manage Snowflake Iceberg Tables in AWS cloud and ensure secure data sharing.
• Implement autonomous warehouse management and configure auto-suspend/resume settings.
• Manage accounts, virtual warehouses, and database objects while ensuring compliance with data protection standards.
