Job description
In this role at Apple, you will be a quality engineer responsible for ensuring the high standards of Apple products during development and mass production. You will collaborate with various teams to drive quality readiness and address any quality issues that arise. Your work will have a significant impact on product launches and the overall quality of Apple's renowned designs. This position also requires international travel and a strong commitment to problem-solving and innovation.
Requirements
- PhD or equivalent in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in metrology and standard manufacturing quality control practices.
- Experience in electro-mechanical products in high volume manufacturing.
- Creative problem-solving experience.
- Technical systems knowledge related to computers.
- Project management experience and understanding of problem-solving tools.
- Familiarity with GRR, MSA, GD&T practices, Metrology, DFMEA, and tolerance analysis is a plus.
- Knowledge of reliability methods and quality sampling methodologies.
- Knowledge or prior experience working on thermal products for the consumer electronics industry is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and passion to learn and adapt to a dynamic environment.
- Prior experience in design/manufacturing of battery modules is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Manage IQC, IPQC, OQC, and ORT.
- Drive quality readiness at the factory for development builds and mass production.
- Drive all quality issues in development builds to timely closure and present findings to executives as needed.
- Collaborate with design, engineering, and safety teams to set appropriate quality control and inspection stations on the production line.
- Conduct periodic reviews of field and factory quality data with OEM partners.
- Prepare OK to Ship documentation for new product launches.
- Create risk assessments and implement plans for new products being developed.
- Work with the product design team on DFM and conduct tolerance analysis studies to suggest changes.
- Develop and drive execution of module reliability testing plans during NPIs and MP.
- Support and attend new product development builds as required.
