Job description

Join Apple's Wireless Connectivity Silicon team, which focuses on wireless silicon development with an emphasis on energy-efficient design and innovative technologies. In this role, you will be integral to a silicon design group that impacts the delivery of functional wireless products to millions of customers. You will craft and implement embedded firmware for System on a Chip (SoC) bring-up and wireless connectivity enablement. Collaboration with Software Engineering teams will be essential to ensure firmware quality for manufacturability.

Requirements

  • Minimum requirement of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Strong background in embedded firmware development using C and assembly languages.
  • Familiarity with ARM CPUs and its internals.
  • Experience with low-level hardware interfaces, register and interrupt programming, and bare-metal software development.
  • Solid understanding of basic embedded concepts such as RTOS, concurrency, and multi-processor systems.
  • Experience in developing low-level drivers for peripherals and performing hardware bring-up.
  • Knowledgeable of wireless communication protocols and understanding of MAC/PHY/Radio layers.
  • Knowledgeable of industry standards for wireless communications such as Bluetooth, WLAN, Zigbee, and UWB.
  • Comfortable with at least one scripting language such as Python, Perl, or Tcl.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Responsibilities

  • Craft and implement embedded firmware for SoC bring-up and wireless connectivity enablement.
  • Work closely with Software Engineering teams to ensure firmware quality for manufacturability.
  • Be a core member of a Wireless SoC firmware team with an emphasis on hardware and system bring-up.
  • Implement drivers and develop protocol stacks.
  • Support other teams interacting within the Wireless SoC group.
