Job description

The Sr. RFIC - PLL Design Engineer will join Apple's wireless silicon development team, focusing on the design and validation of radio transceivers integrated into wireless SoCs. This role is critical in delivering state-of-the-art wireless connectivity solutions for Apple products. The engineer will contribute to the development of analog and digital PLL solutions, driving them to mass production. The position requires collaboration with various engineering disciplines to ensure optimal performance and integration.

Requirements

  • BS degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Ph.D. degree in a related field
  • Experience in design and development of Analog and Digital PLLs and LOGEN for high performance applications
  • Hands-on experience in designing PLL building blocks such as TDC, Digital Filters, Sigma Delta Modulators, Pre-scalers, MMD, DCO/VCOs and PFD/CP
  • Deep understanding of analog, mixed-signal and RF circuit design concepts
  • Familiarity with mixed-signal mode verification methodology using SystemVerilog and AMS
  • Extensive experience in PLL and LOGEN silicon characterization and debug
  • Familiarity with timing analysis tools like Nanotime and Primetime

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design and development of analog and digital PLL solutions for wireless SoCs
  • Drive PLL solutions to mass production for Apple's Wireless Connectivity products
  • Collaborate with system architects to translate system requirements into circuit requirements at the IC level
  • Work with the digital design group to optimize the partition between digital and analog components
  • Model, analyze, and design noise/spur cancellation techniques in PLLs
  • Design and bring into mass production wireless transceivers in deep sub-micron RFCMOS technology
