Job description
As an EMC Design Engineer at Apple, you will be part of a multi-functional team focused on developing innovative EMC solutions for Apple products. Your role will involve evaluating, designing, and optimizing these solutions to ensure compliance with EMC requirements and regulations. You will work collaboratively with design teams and test engineers, contributing to the collective knowledge of the team. This position requires a resourceful engineer who is passionate about research and development in the field of electromagnetic compatibility.
Requirements
- BSEE or equivalent experience in electromagnetic fields and/or applications
- 7+ years of deep subject-matter expertise in EMC, ESD, RF, and/or signal integrity areas
- Proficient in schematic and layout review of PCBs for emissions and immunity control
- Able to perform CAD review of enclosures, connectors, and cables for EMC compliance
- Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with other engineers and cross-functional partners
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Willing and able to support occasional international travel to other Apple sites, vendors, and contract manufacturers
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, design, and optimize EMC solutions for Apple products.
- Ensure that products meet EMC requirements and regulations.
- Conduct design reviews to assess potential risks and create comprehensive test plans.
- Analyze test data and design reviews to guide problem-solving.
- Collaborate with design teams, test engineers, and cross-functional partners to develop and implement solutions.
- Share best practices and lessons learned across projects to support first pass success on future designs.
