Job description

The Senior Computer Vision & Machine Learning Engineer will join Apple's Creativity Apps team to innovate in the creative space by developing advanced editing tools. This role involves working with a team of creatives, designers, and engineers to push the boundaries of Generative AI. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computational photography and multi-modal image editing. This position offers a highly visible opportunity to impact the development of cutting-edge technologies.

Requirements

  • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning or a related field.
  • 5+ years of significant industry experience delivering products using computational photography and machine learning technologies.
  • Extensive knowledge in machine learning and deep learning techniques, particularly multimodal LLMs, Mixture of Experts, PEFT, and RLHF.
  • Strong programming skills in high-level languages like Python and experience with deep learning toolkits such as PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow.
  • Experience delivering customer-facing products with computer vision, computational photography, or generative AI features.
  • Publications at major conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICML, or ICLR.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to innovate and develop new creative editing tools.
  • Build, evaluate, and deploy vision LLMs or instruction-following image editing models.
  • Optimize models and algorithms for efficient performance on resource-constrained platforms.
  • Communicate effectively with diverse audiences, from non-technical individuals to experts.
  • Contribute to large codebases while delivering high-quality software at scale.
