Job description

This role is for a design verification engineer at Apple, focusing on pre-silicon verification for IP designs. The engineer will work on developing verification methodologies and environments to ensure bug-free first silicon for SoC/IP. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical subject area.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming, SystemVerilog, and UVM.
  • Experience in developing scalable and portable test-benches.
  • Proven experience with verification methodologies and tools such as simulators and coverage collection.
  • Some working experience using LLMs for efficiency and quality.
  • Experience with power-aware verification methodologies such as UPF is a plus.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or TCL.
  • Some experience with serial protocols such as PCIe or USB is a plus.
  • Knowledge of formal verification methodology and emulation for verification technologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Establish DV methodology and develop test plans.
  • Create verification environments including stimulus and checkers.
  • Write tests, debug issues, and ensure coverage and sign-off for RTL freeze and tape-out.
  • Develop detailed test and coverage plans based on micro-architecture.
  • Implement verification plans and enable regression for all features.
  • Develop block, IP, and SoC level test-benches.
  • Track and report DV progress using various metrics.
  • Utilize LLM and related technologies to improve execution and quality.
