Job description

As a GPU Top Level Physical Design engineer in the Silicon Technologies group, you will play a crucial role in designing and manufacturing high-performance, power-efficient GPUs. This position combines strategic engineering with hands-on technical work, focusing on complete chip design from netlist to tapeout. You will collaborate with the front-end team to drive physical aspects early in the design cycle and develop methodologies for best-in-class GPU design. Your work will enable Apple products to perform seamlessly and efficiently, enhancing the user experience for millions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with ASIC integration including floorplanning, clock and power distribution, and I/O planning.
  • Familiarity with hierarchical design approaches and physical convergence.
  • Proficiency in Floorplanning tools, P&R flows, and Physical Design Verification Flows.
  • Experience integrating IP from both internal and external vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Implement complete chip design from netlist to tapeout.
  • Collaborate with the front-end team to understand RTL and drive physical aspects early in the design cycle.
  • Develop PD guidelines and checklists, drive execution, and supervise progress.
  • Communicate and drive the needs of physical design with cross-functional teams.
  • Be the focal point for place and route integration at the top level.
