Job description

As a GPU performance modeling engineer in the Silicon Technologies group, you will focus on developing cycle-approximate performance models in C/C++. You will collaborate closely with architects and designers to understand the units being modeled and analyze performance results. This role is critical in supporting the hardware team during model and design performance bring-up. You will work on creating elegant solutions to complex challenges in GPU design and manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong background in GPU, CPU, or SIMD architectures.
  • Excellent C/C++ programming skills.
  • Experience in hardware performance modeling, analysis, and debugging.
  • Strong communication, influence, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop cycle-approximate performance models in C/C++.
  • Collaborate with architects and designers to understand the units being modeled.
  • Analyze performance results and propose architectural and micro-architectural changes.
  • Support the hardware team during model and design performance bring-up.
  • Write performance models for GPU Schedulers, Execution Units, Texture/Pixel Units, or Caches.
