Job description
The Senior Machine Learning Engineer will join the SWE Speech team at Apple, focusing on developing advanced machine learning technologies for speech understanding and generation. This role involves working on large-scale ML systems and multimodal LLMs, particularly in conversational AI. The engineer will translate cutting-edge ML techniques into production systems that enhance the Siri experience for millions of users. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to bring research to production and improve Siri's capabilities.
Requirements
- M.S. or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related fields
- 5-7+ years of experience in Machine Learning
- Experience in developing, training, and tuning large generative models or LLMs
- Proficient programming skills in Python
- Experience with machine learning frameworks such as JAX and/or PyTorch
- Experience in reinforcement learning
- Experience with Speech LLMs or other Multimodal LLMs
- Experience with building and deploying AI agents and LLMs
- Experience with large scale machine learning training and evaluation
- Data-centric vision and hands-on experience in developing and scaling foundation models
Responsibilities
- Advance the latest ML techniques and translate them into production systems
- Develop and deploy novel deep learning technologies for Siri
- Collaborate with other engineering teams to bring research to production
- Develop end-to-end solutions from data scaling to model implementation and training
- Improve systems and take ownership of complex problems
