Job description
The Apple Services Engineering team is seeking a mid to senior-level Quality Automation Engineer to join the App Store QA group. This role involves improving the quality of one of the most widely used applications globally by defining test approaches and strategies. The engineer will work closely with the development team throughout the release cycle, focusing on automation for regression and new feature testing across various Apple platforms. The position requires strong technical and communication skills, as well as a commitment to Apple's privacy values.
Requirements
- Proficient in object-oriented programming with a strong command of at least one major OOP language, preferably Swift and/or Java.
- Solid experience with one or more scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, or shell scripting (Bash/Zsh).
- Deep familiarity with software testing methodologies and quality engineering best practices.
- Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) systems.
- Proven ability to develop automation test strategies, author test plans, execute test suites, and communicate results clearly.
- Experience building and evolving test automation frameworks with a focus on scalability and reliability.
- Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git.
- B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
Responsibilities
- Own complete functional areas and define test approaches and strategies.
- Help automate areas in the App Store for regression and new feature testing.
- Write new automation tests for all Apple platforms: iOS, tvOS, macOS, visionOS, and watchOS.
- Collaborate closely with the engineering team during all aspects of the development process.
- Investigate, debug, and triage complex issues independently and drive them to resolution.
- Design, develop, and execute test plans for AI-powered features and applications.
