Job description
The AIML Information Intelligence team is focused on developing advanced technology for artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing. This role involves large scale machine learning and deep learning to enhance query understanding and ranking for search features across various Apple products. The team aims to create innovative generative AI technologies and improve user experience by leveraging vast amounts of data. Candidates will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that shape the future of Apple's AI-powered products.
Requirements
- PhD, MS or equivalent experience in machine learning, deep learning, information retrieval, natural language processing or data mining.
- Experience in prompt engineering, fine-tuning, evaluating, and developing data collection, annotation, and management tooling for Large Language Models.
- Proficiency in one of the following programming languages: Python, Go, Java, or C++.
- Excellent data analytical skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team player.
- PhD preferred.
Responsibilities
- Analyze search ranking and relevance requirements, issues, and opportunities.
- Develop, fine-tune, and evaluate domain specific Large Language Models for various tasks and applications in Apple's AI powered products.
- Conduct applied research to transfer pioneering research in generative AI to production ready technologies.
- Understand product requirements and translate them into modeling and engineering tasks.
- Build machine learned models for search relevance, ranking, and query understanding problems.
- Integrate search functions into Apple products such as Siri, Spotlight, Safari, Messages, and Lookup.
- Build end-to-end production systems including query understanding and ranking to power search.
- Apply Spark, Hadoop MapReduce, Hive, and Impala to perform distributed data processing.
